Picture Time!

It has been requested that I post some new prego pics, so here they are! I feel SO huge right now. It is really funny b/c when you first start showing, everyone just can't get over "how cute you are", and you actually agree. I mean obviously you don't say that out loud, but deep down, you know you are cute. You have that cute little pregnant belly and everyone wants to touch it. Over Thanksgiving we were over at our friends, Jennifer & Eric's, and at the time, Jennifer was due in about a month. She looked great & I kept telling her that. Her response was, "No, I don't. Not anymore. I am huge." Well, Jennifer, now I know how you feel. It is okay, though, b/c the fact that we are getting SO close to the due date totally outweighs (forgive the pun) my size right now. If nothing else, it is a constant reminder of how quickly we are approaching 3/30. Yah! We are so excited- words just can't express.

Happier than a Lark

So, I went to the doctor for my 2 week checkup on Tuesday, and as I posted a while back, I had a goal to gain a meager 1 pound/ week, as per my doctor. I was so nervous. While I definitely think I watched what I ate more than I have since I found out I was pregnant, it is safe to say I cheated a time or two. Or 3. Or 4. Ok, really, who diets when they are pregnant? I mean, really? Is that even possible? So, I just had this fear the scale was going to reflect an additional 10 pounds or something. I almost asked, "Would it be weird if I just loose all of my clothing? I am sure it weighs alot, and I want to make sure that I have an accurate reading." SO, what was the verdict? 0 gainage! I mean ZERO pounds gained over the past 2 weeks. Fully clothed! Woo-hoo!!!! I just wanted to turn cartwheels all the way down the hall to my assigned little room. Words just can't express. My mom suggested maybe the scales were broken, and they did loose all computer systems at some point while I was there, but I am not asking any questions. SO, I celebrated as anyone should, by picking up a Starbucks Vanilla Frappucino on the way back to work. Yah!

Everything is looking good in regards to the little guy. Hutch is about 3 pounds right now & 30 1/2 cm long. Not inches, as I once thought. That is another story, though. His heart rate was 140, so he is doing just fine!

Tomorrow is Friday- TGIF! We have no plans, either, so that will be super nice. I am sure there will be a little more painting- I may paint my red door this weekend. I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend & I will catch up later!

Nesting

So, I guess you could say the "nesting" phase of my pregnancy has begun. The crib has been purchased, bedding picked up, nursery painted, new blinds positioned, etc. , etc. It's like, I just can't stop! I am addicted to getting this room completed, and while that may be natural for any new mom, I want it done in the quickest way possible. Poor Jeremy. Being the accountant that he is, I am sure he just hears cash registers & sees dollar signs as I am constantly spouting off my newest ideas. This morning I said I would like to make a trip to Ikea next weekend to pick out some new lights & other miscellaneous things for the house. He hates making the pilgrimage to the Ikea maze, but it looks like he will be along for that journey. I think my grand schemes have scared him just enough to come along & supervise my purchasing.

Yesterday, I had a total Lindsey day. Jeremy, with the help of Jarrod & Nick, worked on painting the outside of our house. I went to Target & just kindof roamed up and down random aisles. No time contraints, no where I had to be....it was lovely. Then, I decided to take in "Hotel for Dogs." My cousin, Johnny Simmons, actually has a pretty big part in this movie. It was pretty neat to see him play such a large role. The movie was really cute- definitely targeted more towards kids- but it was cute nonetheless. Plus, it definitely hit home for the dog lover that I am. I decided not to go see Marley & Me b/c my emotions have been super crazy lately & I have heard it is a real tear jerker. BUT, I managed to loose it even in "Hotel for Dogs." Here I am a grown woman, surrounded by kids & their parents (the theater was pretty packed), and the minute they show a scene with pound dogs locked up in cages, I just loose it. These were no gentle tears either, my friends, I am talking about pulling out the kleenex & blowing my nose, I can't make myself stop tears.

SO, because I have no new pictures to post & that movie just made me want to go home & give our dogs some lovin', I am posting some pics of Levi & Diesel.....we love you guys!

We love our dogs!

Book Club

I decided this week that my blog deserves an entry to honor my Book Club. Let me just say, that I think my Book Club (the official name is Book to Movie Club) is by far the hippest book club around. I was asked to join this club of random women (and I only say random b/c it is a group of women who work together, or live in the same cul-de-sac, or just happened to know another member- it's not like we all hung out together before this club started) back in June. I think it is a far cry from your normal book club. First of all, we only pick books that are also movies. That way, you have the option of reading the book, watching the movie, or both! We do actually talk about the book, but the majority of that conversation seems to focus on whether or not we liked the book, how similar or different was it to the movie, the characters, other books by that author, etc. THEN, it's on to other things! We eat, we drink (only a few months until I can enjoy a nice glass of wine again:), and we talk about stuff. We seem to laugh alot about the going-ons in everyone's life. There were some funny stories this past week about children, in laws, and the totally inappropriate things people say & do when you are pregnant. I would list out specifics, but Karan, I just don't think I can beat how you described it in your blog. Anyways, if you enjoy reading, I would highly encourage anyone who has a free night each month to join a book club or even start one. It is SO much fun & you get to meet some great people. This month, in honor of Valentine's Day, our book is Chocolat. I am excited b/c I have not read it yet. Can't wait to get started! In honor of my Book Club, here is a list of my fav books. Jeremy has been known to ask, "Do you think our son will be a nerd like you?" Haha! I LOVE to read & here are some of the best books I have picked up....

1) Tara Road (and anything else by Maeve Binchy)
2) The Time Traveler's Wife
3) 3 Cups of Tea
4) Cane River
5) Savannah Blues (and anything by Mary Kay Andrews)
6) The Twilight Series (that goes out to you, Edward)
7) 1000 Splendid Suns
8) The Kite Runner
9) All Harry Potter books
10) Tess of d'Ubervilles (not sure if I spelled that right)

I hope everyone has a fabulous week & happy reading!

All the boys

NYE- Brandi, Amy, Lindsey

Some 1,700 Miles Later.....

And we are back from our holiday travels! We had such a great time visiting both of our families, and although we spent ALOT of time in the car, we were very fortunate to be able to take a week off for our little road trip. Our Christmas was fabulous- just the 2 of us. We had such a great day! We hit the road on the 26th & headed to Odessa. We awoke Saturday morning to those mighty West Texas winds, and Jeremy knew then for sure he was home. :) I think the highlight of our trip was making a trip out to his family's ranch about 3 hours away. It was absolutely beautiful & especially cool considering how long it has been in his family. His uncle was quite the tour guide while we were roaming around in the TX back country. Our time in Odessa is always so relaxing- love it. We were able to spend alot of time hanging out with family, so that was nice.

We headed to MS just in time to spend NYE at the old stompin' grounds- Hal & Mal's. While it was probably the most tame NYE I have had in quite some time, it was so great to see familiar faces & hang out with our MS fam & friends. And, YES, for those of you who may understand- I was front & center waiting for those Krystals at midnight. Wow, your priorities sure change when you are pregnant. Wait, though, maybe I would have been the first one in line even if I weren't pregnant? Hmmm... anyways, thank you, Brandi White. My grandparents, Jan, and Mom were gracious enough to spend the day with us at the Windsor Ruins & other small MS gems. We also were able to see Leahbeth & Whit and the Hutto Family. It was great to see all of you!!

I will post some pics as soon as we download them. Hutch is doing great- went to the doctor yesterday & everything is looking good. I have gained 9 pounds in 3 weeks. I was so excited about being pregnant during the holidays b/c I thought I could just go to town & not feel guilty about it. Someone should have reminded me I would be jumping on a scale the next week. Oops. Maybe those Krstyals at midnight were not such a great idea. Or those Krystals the night before we headed back to Austin. I totally blame that on Haley. Anyways, that is it for now. I hope this finds everyone well, and Happy 2009!
