Sneakin' in a Few Pics

You know I can't post without sneaking in a few pictures of our little man! While Hutch is great at holding up his head when on his belly, he still has some trouble holding it up while sitting. SO, we are trying to get him some practice while sitting in his Bumbo seat each day. Haley was able to catch this moment on camera yesterday while she was conducting a "training" session!
Hutch loves his baths! He was particularly happy after his bath yesterday so I couldn't resist snapping this shot.

We had a great time with Stephanie & Alissa this weekend! Here is Stephanie with Hutch at Matt's El Rancho. We have decided we can't take him there anymore- I don't know what it is about that place, but Hutch wakes up & throws a fit EVERYTIME we go there. It is really weird! Stephanie, being the pro mom that she is, was nice enough to walk him around the restaurant to calm him down.

A Nice Read for Any Southerner

Jeremy came upon this gem of a magazine not too long ago & bought me a subscription for Christmas. It is such a great magazine. Some of my favorite articles have talked about southern foods you can't miss (there were several restaurants in Jackson I had never even heard of!), supper clubs of the south, Tupelo honey farms in FL, organic farming, etc. It is currently published bi-monthly. I would encourage everyone to check it out! I haven't spent much time on their website, but it appears to be pretty user-friendly.

Hutch is 3 Months Old!

video

Hutch is super chatty these days, especially around 1:00 & 5:00 AM. In fact, we are trying to break him of the midnight feedings, so every night when I start to hear him around 1:00, I go into his nursery with full intentions of just giving him a pacifier & trying to get him to go back to sleep. BUT, as soon as I see him laughing & smiling, I just can't resist. Bottle? Coming right up! Want us to go ahead and buy you a car? Sure thing. Anything you want, just keep laughing! Haha! I apologize that the video is a bit dark- still trying how to figure this thing out!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! We are so excited b/c Alissa & Stephanie are coming in today. Yay! We can't wait! It is always fun to hang out with those two, and Haley so kindly agreed to babysit Hutch Sat. night while we hit the town. Adios!

A Serious Case of the Mondays

I survived my first day back at work! I thought I would really dread going back; I love my job, I just didn't want my time off to end. It really wasn't so bad, though. Luckily, Jeremy had the great idea to have a bunch of friends over yesterday evening to cook out. SO, needless to say, I was pretty occupied with getting our house straightened up, food cooked, etc. I think if it had just been the 3 of us loungin' around all day, I would have had WAY too much time to focus on the fact that my maternity leave is over. I only have to work 9-1:30 each day this week, too, so that helps. AND, Haley is here. We are so excited she is here! I would have been a wreck if I had to drop him off at daycare today. Wow. Thank goodness I have a few months before I have to think about that.

So, back to work I went this morning. It felt really strange setting my alarm clock this morning. I have not done that in a LONG time. Once I got to work, I spent my first hour resetting all of my passwords b/c I couldn't remember any of them. I will adjust to getting back into my old routine, but I sure will miss hanging out with my little buddy each day.

I will try to take & update some pics later. My camera battery is dead & I can't find the charger. I also want to learn how to load a video on here b/c Hutch is smiling & laughing all the time. BUT, I can't find my video camera charger either. Yeah, really bad with chargers for some reason. :)

On another random subject, I just read a great book. It is called Firefly Lane. I highly recommend it for you readers out there! It was such a good read!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Hutch at 11 weeks

Hutch will be 12 weeks on Thursday! Here a few pics I captured today...

Lifting his head

Hutch can lift his head SO well. Not only that, he has lost the wobbliness (if that is a word) & holds it super steady. It is starting to appear really effortless.

All smiles going to meet Dad for lunch

Hutch loves taking rides! Can't believe I caught this huge grin on film! Doesn't it just melt your heart?

Kyle & Jessica's Wedding

This weekend our friend's, Kyle & Jessica, got married here in Austin. Kyle & Jeremy have been best friends since college, so we were so excited to be a part of everything! We had such a great weekend. Wade & Melanie came in from Fort Worth on Thursday & we all went to dinner. Then, we had the rehearsal dinner Friday night at the Salt Lick. It was our first time there- DELISH bar-b-que, and well worth the 30 minute drive from Austin. The atmosphere was really neat, too. The wedding was at 7:00 on Saturday at the Lady Bird Johnson Wild Flower Center. This was honestly one of the most beautiful weddings/recepetions I have ever been to. Everything was outside & the weather was phenomenal. Jeremy's parents came in for the wedding & kept Hutch for us Friday night. Carly & Mark drove in on Sat. to keep Hutch while we went to the wedding. The weekend was an absolute blast & we were so glad to spend so much time with our friends!

Cute Cakes by Carly

Check out this SUPER cute cake by my sister, Carly. She recently discovered this hidden talent of hers & I must say, I am so impressed! She is trying to get her name out there & really start up a cake making business on the side of her normal job. She is quite the little baker! This was a picture she sent me recently & I just couldn't resist posting a pic on the blog. If anyone in the Houston area ever needs a cake, let me know, & I can hook you up with her info. I am sure it will be the hit of any party!
