Another Random Post....

I promise I have full intentions of devoting posts to a single topic that is non-Hutch related. I mean, I love my child dearly, but I can come to terms with the fact that my audience may not be quite as anxious to see all of my recent pics as I am to post them. So, here are a few random thoughts for you on this Thursday morning....

1). The Southern Invasion of NYC: Pick up the most recent edition of Garden & Gun magazine to read all about how southern culture is making a presence in the Big Apple. I have blogged before about how much I love this mag, and I'm not gonna lie to you- there have been a few issues I have been a little unsure about. However, this one, I LOVED! I think my newfound affection for NYC definitely had me tuned into this article. Great read!

2) Other related "reading" news- I just rec'd a notification that The Help is available for me to pick up at the library! Yay! Must be a good one, as I have been in line for it for over a month now. As soon as I can put down my current Nora Robert's book- which btw, my gosh, Nora, can your books be any more similar to one another? I mean, really, can't you just try to spice things up a bit? I need a Nora break asap. BUT, I just can't put down a book without finishing it (unless it is really really bad), so hopefully, I can wrap this up in a couple of days. Now, if only my Lady Gaga CD hold would show up, I would be a super happy lady. Are there any other Lady Gaga fans out there- I love it! And I'm not ashamed to admit it! Her songs are so darn catchy! Back to reading- I have my Book Club meeting tonight- yay! I am making lovely little BBT's to take. What's a BBT, you ask??? Well, let me tell you....

3) BBT- Bacon, Basil, and Tomato Sandwich. And, friends, let me tell you, this isn't your healthy type of sandwich. Of course, now I may just be bringing BT's b/c my new basil plant I picked up yesterday at Newflower (the guy told me his has lasted 3 weeks already) is just about dead. I love basil, too. I mean, it's SOOO good! So, my mom's recipe originally just calls for bacon, mayo, roma tomatoes, and white bread- BUT, I thought basil would be a nice touch. We will see how she's faring up when I get home.

4) Hutch & I are headed back to Houston this weekend! We are really excited about spending the night with Carly & then finally meeting little Makella (Jenn & Chad's baby girl) for lunch on Sunday. Then, we are off to Penny's shower! Jeremy will be kickin' it solo at the casa this weekend to try & take advantage of some study time. I could lie & say all this goin' drives me crazy, but I won't do that to you- I love it. I have such "go-itis" that I start to climb the walls if I am in one place too long. We had a couple of weekends where we had no plans, and I was so excited, but when those weekends finally rolled around, I was so ready to get out of our house, I could hardly stand it. Poor Jeremy- he is certainly the vicitim here- he could think of nothing better than laying low on his Saturday's & Sunday's.

Hope y'all have a fabulous weekend!

Sun and Sand

We headed down to Galveston this weekend to spend a few days with Carly, Marc, Daniella, Jason, Jordan, and some of their friends. We had a wonderful time- it was so relaxing!

Check out these two...are they having a good time, or what?Awww....
Silly little man...
Daniella & Jordan
Me & Hutch
Of course Hutch had to sport his hawaiian shirt while at the beach!
Not a fan of the water, we discovered (it was rather chilly), but he loved the sand!
And he loved that stick- kept him entertained the whole time we were there. Check out the naked Barbie in the background...niiiiiccce.
I heart grainy b & w pics.
Hutch and the stick...again.
I just love those feet & I love taking pictures of them!
Lizette's girls- how cute is this???
This is my fave one of all.

Hope y'all had a fun weekend!

Happy Birthday, Emmerson!

We made it back in time today to attend Emmerson's 2nd bday party. It was such a beautiful day for a party in the park! We had such a great time & Hutch LOVED the slide. He was really nervous at first & Jeremy had to really put to use his persuasive skills to get him to try it out. After the first go, Hutch was sliding down head first! Don't worry, Jeremy was at the bottom to catch him everytime. It was hilarious, though- he would put his arms in front of him & close his eyes really tight. He had a HUGE grin on his face each time. He was so cute!!!
Just hanging out....
I love that litte man....
Ok, how cute is Emmerson's cake? Obviously, she had a ladybug themed party. She was even dressed as a ladybug- so cute!
Oh, yes, my friends, the 'hawk has returned. And, I am couldn't be happier.
Hutch & Emmerson
Hutch getting ready to slide!
Yes, Jeremy spent the majortity of the party at the slide with Hutch. We couldn't get over how much he loved it.
Check out that cute fam- Brent, Emmerson, and Kelly

Everything But the Kitchen Sink

Happy Thursday! So, I affectionately labeled this post due to the randomness of it's content. I had alot of different things I wanted to post about, but due to time, I had to throw it all in together. This past weekend we headed over to Rollie Pollies to help my friend, Regan, celebrate her little Samantha's 2 year bday! We had such a great time & the gym where the party was held was so much fun! Hutch was a little overwhelmed & a bit too young to enjoy all of the festivities, but we all had fun, nonetheless... Here are some party pics.....

Regan & Samantha
Little Emmerson- is it worth mentioning that this is the 2nd pic of E on my blog with a cupcake? Hmmmm.....
Hutch- not really sure what's going on.
Samantha on the rings
Hutch's first slide you can see, he loved it.
I had a few more pics from Easter Sunday. After Jeremy's parents hit the road, we took the party outdoors to enjoy the nice weather. I thought these were so cute- especially the ones of Hutch and his Daddy.

AND, then we have the Easter pics that did not make the photo album, but were just too darn cute to not post.

We are so ready for the weekend....another relaxing one for us! We are headed north to Georgetown on Saturday evening for fajitas with the fam. Mary & Nelson invited us over to help celebrate my cousin, Jill, moving to Austin. Yay! Then, I am helping at the church nursery on Sunday.
Tomorrow is definitely a bittersweet day for us, as it is Hutch's last day at his current day care. We decided to make a change based on a lot of things (I will spare all the details.) Regardless, it was a very difficult decision & one that Jeremy & I put alot of thought into. We will certainly miss the ladies who have watched him everyday, but we are thrilled to begin our new place on Monday. Hutch's new room is much more suited for his age group & he will have alot more structure with his daily activities. When Jeremy picked him up today, they said they are having a going away party for him tomorrow with enchilladas, rice, and beans- Hutch will certainly be in heaven.
Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!!!!

It's a BOY!!!!

Did y'all know that Carly is preggers? Yes, indeed, and we were SOOOO excited to find out this week that she is having a boy!!!! Yay! It just makes me happy to think of all the fun times ahead for Hutch and his future little cuz. Obviously, we would have been thrilled if it had been a girl or boy, but I was secretly hoping for a little 'fella. She is due Aug. 19th. Hope everyone has a delightful weekend- we have 0 plans & I couldn't be more excited. Well, I take that back- we have a bday party at McDonalds tomorrow for a little girl in Hutch's daycare & then we have another bday party for my friend, Regan's little girl, on Sunday. BUT, that is all! Hope y'all have a relaxing one....we are ready for a little R & R.

OH, and don't know if you read my "blogaholic" post, but I noticed there was an "anonymous" post stating, "Stay off my blog!!!" Well, I was a little amused & excited b/c I thought, "Yay! Random people look at my blog, too!" BUT, then I started thinking it was a bit rude & maybe someone has been seriously offended that I have repeatedly visited their blog. I thought, "Is there some sort of tracker I don't know about that reports back to blog users when their sites are visited by people they don't know?" I really did start to worry about this. Well, Wed. night, Jeremy got home from work and said, "Stay off my blog, ok?" Yep- the comment is from him. I thought that was hil-ar-i-ous. Have a great weekend!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, everyone! Jeremy's parents are here & I have been simply dying to get Hutch outside to take a few pics & what better occassion than Easter & late bday pics? Jeremy's parents are here for the weekend, so we headed out to the Nutty Brown Cafe today for some grub & I took advantage of the sun & warm weather. Hope everyone has a great Easter!

Confessions of a Blogaholic

Is it weird that I look at people's blogs I don't know? Sometimes, when I get bored, I will just check out people's blogs that I have never met via blogs of those I do know. SO, I guess I don't really NOT know them. I mean, they know someone I know, so that's ok, right? It is quite addictive, right? Especially when you find blogs that lead you to believe that the owner is really cool. I have definitely discovered a few blogs that I like to read maybe once or twice a week. I won't mention any names, but some of you fellow bloggers: I have total friend envy when it comes to some of your peeps. I have come to realize that there are alot of people out there who have really sweet talents that I want to adapt, my writing skills are definitely subpar, and I could fancy up my blog a bit. What do you think about leaving comments on people's blogs you don't know? I'm not going to lie- I have done it once or twice. Not much of a response, though, so I have given that up. The first person never responded, which I thought was rather rude, as I actually did know this person from way, way back. The 2nd person did approve my comment to added on their page, so I thought that was rather nice & apparently they didn't think I was a weirdo. Sometimes a post or pic or something will just inspire me to leave a comment, so why not? I wouldn't care of a random person left a comment on my page. Anyways, just thought I would share & see if I am the only one guilty of this???
