Ryder's Here!!!!

Yay, yay, yay! I am finally an Aunt!!! For those of you who check out Carly's & Haley's blogs, this is old news, but for those of you who don't know- Ryder Boone Ramirez was born Thursday evening & weighed in at 9 pounds! We were so shocked he was so big! And, he was 22 in. long, so he is quite the healthy little man. We think he may give Hutch a run for his money in a few years. We headed to Houston on Friday to meet the little fella- he is SOOOO cute! I know I am partial, but I would totally feel that way even if I wasn't his aunt. :) Hutch isn't quite sure what to think of his little cousin, but we just know they are going to be buddies! Here are just a few of the many pics I took:
Look at that handsome face- what a complexion & I just love his eyes!

I couldn't get over how much he was awake. He seemed to always have his eyes open & would just check things out. Carly & Marc may disagree, but he rarely seemed to cry! I think he's going to be laid back just like his big cuz.

Proud Parents.

I adore this picture- look how happy they are!!!! What a cute little fam.

Ryder with his favorite aunt. Hehe.

I think Marc took this picture & I just love it!
Here is Lolli with her 2 grandsons- look at how Hutch is smiling at Ryder. Love it!
Proud Pop!

Lolli & Pop with their 2 grandsons!
I had to post this- after all day at the hospital, we had to get creative with entertaining Hutch.

Ryder's Grandparents.
We are so glad that Ryder has finally arrived & we are so thankful that everyone is healthy & doing well. I can't wait to watch that little guy grow up & I just know that Carly & Marc are going to be the best parents! It's so much fun watching our family grow!

Weekend Fun

We had a fabulous weekend. We had so much fun catchin' up with the Pope family Friday night at Freddies!!!! Saturday, we headed to Volente Beach for a work outing. Hutch had a great time at this kid-friendly waterpark. He LOVED the little kid pool that consisted of a big pirate ship with slides. I would be lying if I told you my calves were not still killing me from wading through that water & climbing up those stairs over & over so Hutch could go down the slide. Rather embarrassing, really- there were only about 5 steps, but we went up them too many times to count. I probably wouldn't be able to walk if Jeremy hadn't been there to alternate with me. Anyhow, Hutch would just go down that slide however he happened to fall- frontwards, backwards, head first, on his side- you name it. And he was quite confident knowing that his Mom or Dad would be waiting at the end to pull him up from underneath the water. Here are a few pics! I think he enjoyed the pizza ALMOST as much as the pool. Wonder who he gets that from....

For those of you who are wondering- no Ryder yet! Looks like he will hold off until Thursday, when Carly is scheduled to be induced. SO, my next blog will be fully devoted to our new little nephew! I can't wait to meet that little fella!

Baby News and No Baby (Yet) News

Happy Saturday, everyone! This post has 2 points, so here ya go...

1) Baby News: We have a name for the little baby girl!..........Hazel!!! We are so excited & although we understand that there are a few of you out there who may think of rather uncomplimentary things when you hear this name, we are convinced that once you meet our little Hazel, she will be the only thing you associate it with. These were my favorites: Finley, Brecken, Harris, Sawyer, Nash, and Harper. It ended up being between Harper & Hazel and we just felt Hazel was it! We don't have a middle name yet, but we are working on it.

2) RYDER, WHAT'S THE HOLD UP????? Give your Mama a break & get here already! We are all on pins & needles! I keep waiting by the phone & poor Carly is probably so sick of me answering every time she calls, "Is it time?" She is scheduled to be induced on Thursday, so at least we know we will get to meet him then at the very latest. BTW, she has joined the blogging world! As you know, I have no idea how to link sites with words, so you can check it out by clicking on The Ramirez Family under my fave blogs.

Hutch at the Park

We attended a company picnic last weekend in Round Rock. Although it was super hot, we had a great time. Hutch had an absolute blast on the playscape. He is sooo brave, it is a bit nerve-wracking for Jeremy & me. I felt like we were both bouncing all around that playscape to make sure we had all exits covered in case he decided to take a plunge. He loved going down all the slides (preferred technique- backwards) and trying to keep up with the big kids. Here are a few shots we took.

Thank you, Rebecca Wells...

.....for finally writing another book! My gosh, why doesn't she write more books??? For those of you who are unfamiliar with this author, Rebecca Wells wrote the Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, along with a couple of other books that relate to it. I, for one, think she is super talented & it takes only a page or two for me to get sucked into her small-town Louisiana settings. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is up for an easy read that will make you laugh & cry! Thanks, Jennifer, for the rec!

Sugar 'N Spice and Everything Nice....

That's what little girls are made of! AND, we are going to have one!!! YAY! We find out yesterday & I am not lying when I tell you I just about fell out of the chair. I think the first words out of my mouth were, "WHAAAAAATTTT?????" Jeremy & I are SOOOO excited & even though Hutch isn't quite old enough to know what's going on, we just know he is going to adore his little sister & be the best big brother a girl could ask for.

I think I am going to buy a dress this weekend to celebrate...for the little one, that is. I just keep thinking about little bloomers, pigtails, and mother/daughter pedicures. What fun we are going to have! Everything looks healthy & she is right on track for 1/1! Have a great weekend!

'Bye-bye, Baby Curls

We decided it was finally time to get Hutch's hair cut. Sniff, sniff. It looks SO much better, even though he doesn't look like a little baby anymore!

Bullet Points

I really thought about writing multiple posts. I mean, I really did. But, that just would have been too much effort for this half-day-off I have today. So, you will have to just bear with me as I mention all I have to say via bullet points. I tend to think in numbered lists or some sort of bulleted list, anyways, so this is fitting.
  • Ross & Carri's Wedding: We headed West this past weekend to attend Jeremy's cousin's wedding. It was so great to see everyone, although we certainly missed those who were unable to make it. I didn't take too many pictures, but here are a few!

Hutch just entertaining his 'ole Mom at the Rehearsal. I think he is already sick of the camera. Can I tell you how happy this sight made Jeremy? Just to clarify in case you aren't 100% sure what Hutch is carrying: a fishing pole & a golf club. Need I say more. In case you don't believe me when I say, "our hands sure are full with this one...." Hutch & Me. This was shortly before we were showering him with graham crackers to keep him quiet during the ceremony. And, can you believe that it worked? Hmmm.... I thought this was a pretty shot of the bride. Newlyweds! Hutch made a friend during the ceremony & she just loved picking up the flower petals & putting them in his hair. By the look of this picture, Hutch didn't seem to mind her attention one bit. The getaway truck....how sweet is this ride??? I LOVED this!

  • Book Club: I haven't blogged about Book Club lately, but I am still lovin' meeting with this ever changing group of ladies! Our Book 2 Movie this past month was Up in The Air. I didn't read the book, but I did see the movie & I thought it was so depressing! I was not alone in thinking this....Guess what our Book 2 Movie is this month? The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo! Yay! I have been really wanting watch the movie, so this will be an excellent excuse to do so. My dish contribution last night for our meeting was Symphony Brownies & they were certainly a hit. If you have never tried this super easy dish, all you do is mix up a box of brownies according to the box, pour 1/2 the batter into a casserole dish, then place 2 Symphony w/ toffee bars on top; cover with the remaining batter. Sorry, Haley, I just had to post about it....although, it wasn't the same picking at the leftovers by myself. :)
  • I signed up for my first photography class! Woo-hoo! Who cares if it's not until October- it's in my Outlook, so I will be there! I want to be able to take great pics SO badly, but I am honestly so impatient. I just want to snap my fingers & voila! I am a photographer! I love, love, love, Hello Delta- check out her link under my blog list (I haven't figured out how to link sites with words- if anyone wants to give me some guidance, I will gladly accept!), as she is so talented. Maybe one day. Of course, I think I will need more than 1 Intro to Photography class at Wolf camera to get me there. At least I am on the right track.
  • Little Ryder is almost here! His due date is 8/19, but I am anxiously waiting by my phone. And, I won't lie....there have been moments at work recently where I have thought, "Oh, Ryder, if you could just get things movin' right this second, I would so appreciate it and I promise to thank you later. I could really use an excuse to get out of..." you know, whatever it may be at work or what not. BUT, it hasn't happened yet. We are certainly getting closer, though!
  • Pedicures: Is there really anything better? I just had a fabulous one & I went out on a limb with a new color (flat, purple-y, grayish color)-and I LOVE it! Only thing- there was no label on the bottom, so I have no idea what it is. I better really enjoy it as it may be the last time these toes ever meet that shade again.
  • Naps. I love naps. And as far as I'm concerned, what's a half day without one? Happy Friday Eve, everyone!
