Brother + Sister

There is nothing like a sibling. I have always been so thankful for my sisters. Well, let me clarify- there were definitley times growing up that I could not possibly understand WHY my parents chose to have 2 more kids after me. And there were some nasty fights between the 3 of us. I don't know how old I was when I fully appreciated my sisters. They are my best friends & they know me better than anyone. They have seen me at my worst and at my best. I thank God for them daily! That being said (yes, there is a point here:), I can't express how excited I am that Hutch has a little sister. He loves her so much already! In fact, my plan was to dedicate a post all to Hazel, but Hutch just wouldn't leave her alone. So, while I have a few pics of Hazel by herself, there are some cute ones of the 2 little Hoskinsons together.

I don't know why, but this pic just makes me laugh. I just love their expressions. Could they both look less interested?

First time in the high chair! Haley, remember when busted this out for the first time with Hutch? He was right about Hazel's age, fyi!

This just makes me smile. It already looks like they are conspiring against us.

No one can make Hazel smile like her big brother.

"Here, Hutch, hold your sister!" are probably not the smartest words to ever come out of my mouth. But, it was worth it and no one was harmed during the process.

Ahhh, a 3 day weekend is just around the corner. Yay! I hope that you all have lots of plans that include fireworks, family, fabulous food, and festivities. We will be hitting up the annual Balloon Glow and spending some time at my parent's new house. Have a great rest of the week!

Let's Give it Up for the Dads

I would like to dedicate this post to my wonderful husband, Dad, and Paw Paw. On this Father's Day, I have also thought of Pop, my Dad's father, and wish that he were with us today. We miss you, Pop! To Paw Paw: thank you for having the patience of a saint. Thank you for always taking the time to show me the sunsets, to drive your pickup through the cotton fields, to make me laugh, and to always know that there is a God that loves me.

To my Dad: thank you for trying to teach me things. I'm sorry the golf thing didn't work out. God bless you for your relentless efforts. Thank you for being so understanding when I told you that I would have $500 saved up for my first car but didn't tell you that I actually didn't have the money until we were on the way to actually purchase my car. Thank you for not physically harming me when I wrecked that same car as soon as I pulled out of the dealership. Thank you for encouraging me to get a job and make my own money. Thank you for being the incredibly funny person that you are: I will always laugh when you pretend to run into poles and doorframes. As far as I am concerned, that never gets old (although I am sure Mom would disagree.) Thank you for kindly asking me to remove the belly button ring that I had the bright idea to pierce myself. Thank you for being the cool, fun dad that you have always been. Thank you for asking that boy I brought home if his sister knew he had borrowed her earrings. Thank you for being you, Dad, and thank you for being such a wonderful Pop to little Hutch and Hazel.

Jeremy, thank you for being the best father I could have ever asked for to our kiddos. Whether it's taking Hutch fishing or playing in his blow up swim pool or making up silly songs- you are always so involved. As far as Hazel- she has a special light in her eyes when she looks at you. And, she's told me she can't wait for that pony. ;) Happy Father's Day! Here are some of my fave pics with my kiddos and the special Dad's in my life. Enjoy your day!

I Promised I'd Post Some Pics...

Happy Sunday, everyone! I hope y'all have had a great weekend....ours has been lovely. As promised in my last post, here are some pics. I will try not to make this too long, as I am approaching almost 3 hours of complete silence while H & H sleep- I have a feeling either one will be waking up at any moment.

I finally got Hutch & Hazel's room decorated. Hutch's room is pretty much done, but Hazel's still needs a bit of work. Hutch is staying true to his Texas roots by going with a western theme.

Hazel's pad

Hazel really wanted to work on her tan last weekend to get ready for Destin. If she could talk, she would have said one of two things: 1) Someone please flip me. 2) HUTCH, quit splashing me already!

Sweet girl. It was so hot outside- Hutch definitley had the most fun. It won't be long before Hazel is splashing around in that pool with her big brother.

You can't put a price on a blow up pool. Well, actually, you're out about 25 bucks, but the fun it provides is PRICELESS. Look, even Elmo looks like he's having a ball.

My Mom even scooped one up for thsi weekend! Her's is much cooler, might I add, as it has a slide & sprinkler. Carly & Ryder are here for a few days (came in to see Haley off yesterday)- Ryder just hung out and splashed around while Hutch tried to show him some cool tricks.

Ryder really did love the pool. Really. I think he had just about had enough when this was taken. Look at that sweet face.

My parents sold their house!!! Whew, whew! We had to get one last shot of the 5 of us, and where better than in front of the "sold" sign. We've made many, many memories at Brookstone Circle, and while we are so excited about my parent's new place, we certainly will miss this place!

We all loaded up to see Haley off at the airport yesterday. She is spending a few days in Boston before heading to Thailand. We probably won't see her for a year & a half! Makes me sad :( In fact, Hazel couldn't bear to see Haley walk onto that plane, so she decided to bid her farewell at home.

Haley & her little nephews

Sisters!

I realize I look a bit like a turtle in this picture, with my head sticking out and all. BUT, I also realize that no one will really pay attention to me becasue there are 2 super cute kiddos in this picture. And, yes, Ryder is sportin' a vespa on his onesie b/c that's the way he rolls. Not actually on a vespa. (He actually rolls in a carseat, rear facing for safety) But, you know, he's got an awesome sense of fashion.

Yesterday evening we attended Danni Cook's 1st bday party. Isn't she so cute?

Look at that cute little redhead- I think she's crying b/c Hutch won't share his hot dog. He loves hot dogs. And he hates sharing. We are currently working on that.

Ollie told Jeremy Thursday night that she and Hutch are going to get married. Ahh, true love. ;) These two lucked out b/c Danni was too sleepy to eat her smashcake. Being engaged to the bday girl's sister sure has its perks.

Yeeeeeee-ha!

Have a great week!
